My name is Pierre J. LeBel; I am 64 years old and live in the friendly city of Belleville, Ontario (pop 43,000) with Mary, my goddess, and our cats Octavia and Sylvie, in a nice bungalow at the crest of the hill, overlooking the Moira River.
My son Richard and daughter Caroline with her husband Brent and my two grandchildren, Serena-Claire and Morgan-Pierre, live in Toronto.
My decision to become a full-time stamp dealer came after several visits to CAPEX'87. Although the Stock Market Crash of October 1987 depleted my cash reserves severely, I started by offering approvals by mail. |
Several years later, I opened a showroom in Toronto where collectors and dealers found all kinds of 'treasures' on my shelves. The showroom was closed in late 1992 as I was moving to Belleville in 1993 to own and manage a computer training school. I kept involved in the philatelic trade on a part-time basis until I sold the school twelve years ago. I have been selling stamps full-time since then and enjoy doing it.
While I specialize in better Canadian and British Commonwealth stamps, I will handle a little bit of everything remotely called philatelic. My international reputation keeps growing by constantly offering collectors and dealers quality stamps at fair prices. Most of my offerings are substantially discounted from current catalogues.
In addition to my auctions on eBay, I service over 9,000 philatelists and dealers wordwide.

I served on the board of Quinte Literacy for several years including two years as treasurer and on the board of directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hastings & Prince Edward Counties (last year as vice-president).

2010 will mark a milestone as I turn 65 in November. Mary tells me it is now time to seriously consider retirement, or at least, partial retirement. “No more 60 hours a week” she declared. To this end, I will dispose of my massive worldwide and British Commonwealth stamp inventory during 2010.
Stamps, booklets, souvenir sheets and other philatelic material will be offered in my eBay store, individually and in small and large wholesale lots, at deep discounts, on a “first come, first served” basis, before being sold to other dealers and wholesalers with the remainders sent to philatelic public auctions by year end. To speed up the process, no reasonable wholesale offer will be declined.
The current plan is to continue dealing in Canadian stamps exclusively once my worldwide inventory is depleted.
