Hello, thanks for your interest. The purpose of this page is to give you enough information to feel comfortable bidding and buying from us on eBay. I will introduce you to us, and our beginnings; I will explain our specific eBay policies, and the ways we try to ensure you are always pleased with your buys from us. We want you to become repeat buyers on eBay; and come visit in person at an Antique Show. Our show schedule / calendar is presented below.
We have been buying and selling as NOREPROS on eBay since 1998. In the spring of 2009, we opened our eBay store, GlimmerGlass Antiques, to enabale us to present additional items to you. We have done almost 6000 ebay transactions. We currently have a 100% eBay feedback rating, with almost 5 star ratings in all categories. We have worked hard to build and maintain exceptional customer satisfaction. Allow me to explain...
I'm Scott Roland. GlimmerGlass Antiques was started by my Mom, Dad, and myself in 1988 as a fun family thing to do. We are collectors who strayed over the line and first set-up in a multi-dealer shop; then became Show dealers in 1990. In 1999 I became a full-time, professional, Victorian Glass Specialist Antiques Dealer. As well as our eBay presence, we are well known nationally due to our participation in the best Antiqinues Shows in the East, as well as participation in many and various national glass collecting clubs.
We are based in Central NYS, near Cooperstown. Sorry, we dont have a shop. We primarily sell at Antiques Shows, on eBay, or privately to our customer base. Show sales are over 75% of our business. We always carry a large inventory and display a double booth of mostly colored Victorian Era glassware. Dad's gone now; Mom still travels with me to many shows, but she's slowing down. I'm 50 years old, earn my entire livlihood through antiques and work very hard to pay my bills. Please rest assured... I would never misrepresent any piece to make a couple of bucks... I live modestly and have too much at stake.
We buy and sell every day. Locally and globally. I'll purchase individual pieces or world class collections outright. Estate sales, major auction houses, local individuals, even museums are the source of our inventory. Many of my customers / collectors have asked us to sell items on consignment for them as they prune back their collections; as well as when we have managed the entire disposal of large and extensive collections including hundreds, or thousands, of pieces. We do NOT limit our inventory to only high-end glass; many of our items are priced $100 or less. We are always looking for those items that are desirable to the collector.
We have a glass reference library of almost 2000 items... recent and OOP books, catalogs, magazines, etc. We only specifically attribute items we are certain about. We've tried to contribute in many ways to the field of glass collecting. Our tumbler collection is featured in Tom Bredhoft's book "Glass Tumblers". We were featured on HGTV shows with both the Kovel's and Harry Rinker. We've supplied photos and information for various books and articles including: Lechner's Salt Shaker books, Billings's Peachblow and Rosebowl books, Martha Stewart Living Magazine, Country Living Magazine, Glass Collector's Digest, and most of the Antiques Trade papers.
