Hi,
My name is Nick and I'm a glassblower from Horncastle, Lincolnshire. I've been in business making hand blown art glass since 1995 and for the majority of this time I produced replacement and reproduction glass for the antique trade, specialising in cranberry epergnes and centrepieces, now also opalescent and vaseline glass for collectors.
I studied in Stourbridge, the historical centre of English glassmaking and worked for a couple of well known glass studios in London and Devon before establishing my own workshop. I also have examples of my work in permanent collections at Broadfield House glass museum, Stourbridge and the Universities Funding Council, Bristol.
I have recently moved to new premises which are now open to the public where I hold demonstrations to share my passion for glassblowing and have the opportunity to work with new glass recipes. I also produce castings of children's hands and feet and hold day courses for people to come and experience what it's like to blow glass and get very hot!
My new line of work is large scale one-off platters or 'wall art' which have been gaining popularity with galleries and collectors in the U.K. and America and I'm constantly developing further lines of unique art glass and historical reproductions as well as private and corporate commissions, so if you are looking for something special please contact me and I'll make it for you!
