I am the Director of a mid sized museum and have spent many years studying history, architecture, and the fine arts. I have published numerous articles and books, and have written several short online biographies of well-known (and some not so well-known) American artists. In my spare time I haunt the antique flea markets and estate sales for interesting paintings, drawings, and other unusual items to sell both to private dealers and to the public over eBay.
I will try my best to inform you in my item description of whether or not I believe an item is by the hand of the artist, is attributed to the artist, by someone working in the circle of the artist, by someone working in the manner of their work, or has been copied after their work. If I have not stated it explicitly, you may assume that I beleive the work to be done by the artist whose name I include in the listing. I will also do my best to accurately document the present condition of the work I am offering for sale. Please read the item description carefully and ask any questions you have prior to bidding and/or the conclusion of the auction listing.
Unless I state otherwise, I stand behind what I am selling. I hate when people offer fakes and just plain "wrong" items, and I will attempt not to do that to others. I research items and offer my best opinion based upon that research and my previous years of knowledge. Please review my "limited warrantee" (below) for further information.
MY LIMITED WARRANTEE: Although I exercise due care in describing the items listed and use good judgment in attributing authorship; that does not make any express or implied warrantee as to such authorship as each item is described only to the best of my abilities. Notwithstanding, I may, but shall have no obligation to, consider any reasonable request for refund on the grounds of authenticity or authorship only and only under the following conditions: 1 - Notification must be made to me in writing within 7 days of receipt of the item. 2 - The items must be returned within 25 days of the date of sale, accompanied by written testimony from a recognized authority that the item in question is a forgery. 3 - The limited warrantee does not extend to items identified as attributions, school, circle, manner, or after. 4 - The limited warrantee is applicable only to the original buyer, not a third party who has since acquired the item from the original buyer .
