About Me
This is me, a Louisiana gal, enjoying the Cayugahoga Falls, OH waterfall! It was definitely different than our swamps!

Bonjour! I am from Louisiana, now living in the suburban Dallas area. I am working on my doctoral degree in Nutrition over in this area. How I miss home! The recent Hurricanes Katrina & Rita have effected so many people I know and love. I have lived in both New Orleans and Lake Charles (where Hurricane Rita hit). Most people do not realize that Hurricane Rita was more powerful and destructive of a hurricane in terms of force than Katrina was, due to the fact that Lake Charles is a smaller town, 75,000 and did not receive the same amount of media coverage. Thank God we learned from Katrina and there were no deaths aside from the man who slipped near his pond on the way out of the evac process. The devestation and deaths in New Orleans has broken my heart and hit me to the very core. By the way, I'm petite; I'm 4 foot, 11 inches by American measurement standards. Hence the ebay name Franki411. It doesn't mean I am a know it all, like when you call information and dial 411. ;-)

This is me enjoying a friend's really cool car! :-)

Our family has made rosaries for nearly 70 years and we have the oldest family owned rosary business in the country. My father made some for his family, especially his mother, when he was in the seminary. Obviously God had other plans. He later met and married my mother. He taught me a few things about learning how to use the rosary pliars and over the years I picked up on the techniques. I later read up on refining techniques. Now I am part of professional groups. I have also taught my niece and nephew how to make rosaries. So there are three generations in our family, although I am the person that does most things. They are "pinch hitters." (Remember, I am in school!) Lots of curve balls, although I try to handle things well! :-) Our family has suffered a lot of heartbreaks with the hurricanes, as has our entire commnity. We nearly lost my uncle due to a stroke during an evacuation. Luckily he was very near an exit on the interstate and my aunt realized it and got him to the hospital. They are living in a FEMA trailer on an airport runway right now in a FEMA city b/c they lost their house. Despite the devestation, we are a strong and loving group as a family and as a community and have supported each other well. We believe in God and His loving hand and support. I hope to eventually sell some of my creations on ebay. My computer skills with photos need to get better. I am an honest person and do not believe in cheating people. I believe in an honest day's wage for an honest day's work. So, if you have any problems please ask. Once I begin selling, I want customer satisfaction. I am hoping to use some of my creations to help pay for books and eventually the ever hefty TUITION!!$$$$ I have worked in a girlfriend's custom bridal salon for years and am extremely customer oriented wanting to ensure your satisfaction. If you are a spiritual person, please remember New Orleans AND Lake Charles in your prayers, as Lake Charles has been forgotten by the media and their struggle has been quite different. The journey of healing will be a long one even after the coverage has stopped. If you are not a spiritual person, I simply ask for respect of others values. Thank you & Happy Ebaying! ~Franki
