This is a copyright infringement. You can use my patterns for your own personal use, but selling or giving them away is against US copyright laws.
2. May I alter your pattern and call it my own?
No, it is considered theft of intellectual property.
3. Is it OK to make small quantities of your designs for sale? Say at a local craft fair, or maybe on Etsy. Of course that would include
acknowledging you as designer on a label, something like
"Crafted by <my name> from a design by <your name>".
I created these patterns for personal use only, not for others to profit from my creativity. You will note on my website that I sell everything I make.
The only way I would handle this is hire machine knitters to make and pay and I distribute for profit.

My passion for selling jewelry began in 2003 and was directly related to when my dad and I sold on Chicago's Maxwell Street Market years ago. At that time, my job was to gather, sort, and display the jewelry for sale. We worked on Sundays from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. rain, sleet, or shine.
I appreciate technology! And, I appreciate our continuous customer growth throughout the years. My handmade and collectible jewelry are unique, timeless jewelry pieces you can wear with your favorite jeans, a business suit, or that special cocktail dress. Recently, I sold a lovely turquoise set (ring, bracelet, and earrings), a pair of Stephen Dweck clip-on amber earrings, bakelite beads, various pendants, costume jewelry for crafts, and accessories as coach handbags, men cufflinks, and etc.... I continue to offer unique finds.
My passion for machine knitting started about four years ago. I could not produce my Christmas presents fast hand knitting. I searched on eBay and purchased a Brother 840 punch card knitting machine. I could not get it to work. Little did I know about the sponge bar. (Tip: weather stripping) I tossed that machine away! A couple of weeks later my dad saw one of those machines. I begged him to purchase it. To my surprise it was a Brother KH965 electronic knitting machine! It took me about two years to learn the machine and its techniques. Now I’m creating machine knitting patterns. Thanks to the lovely people I have met on eBay I was able to find all the tools needed! :)
