OBSESSIVE ABOUT PORTRAITURE

| HOW IT ALL STARTED
As a child I was one of those non-negotiable types who viewed the world through the safe harbour of parents legs! Well, today that harbour has gone but I'm still viewing this strange world and its myriad of faces. Hardly suprising then 24 years ago I became an obsessive collector of portraiture in all it's forms.( Silhouette, Miniature,Watercolour, Pastel,Wax,Tassie,oil,Graphite etc.)
However, there are only so many portraits one can hang in their home before it evolves into something more sinister looking than aesthetically pleasing. Now I am more circumspect in my collecting by adding, exchanging and selling rather than keeping everything! All of which led me to Ebay and I am pleased to say that , all in all, some people tend to appreciate the same styles of portraiture as I do. |

| DUCKBOD6
As well as being interested in portraiture I am also mystified by the english language and its colloquialisms! My grandmother was a ' Geordie' from County Durham so I heard lots of talk about people being 'Canny' and , of course, I could have anything 'When the boat comes in'. My formative years were spent in Yorkshire where people were called ' luv' and things were ' As black as miners hats'! Then I made forays into Lincolshire - where I am now settled- and could scarce believe my ears! Everyone seemed to call each other 'Duckbod'. ''How are you duckbod'', ''Hello, you little duckbod''! I never forgot these expressions, or the word, and when I eventually discovered Ebay and required a username I remembered that Lincolshire word but it had been taken by 5 others - hence the 6 |
