Hello, my name is Joseph Canterbury. I was at a crossroad in my life in the fall of 2003. I wasn't for sure which way to go...so I bought several home based business magazines. The more I looked through them the more I felt confused.
I have always enjoyed working with my hands. While I was in the U.S. Army, I was a radio repairman. As a small child, I could only think about when I would become a soldier. The day final came, 4 days after graduation, June 8, 1989. I was a soldier. My army career didn't last long. When my 5 year term was up on June 7, 1994 I left my dream for medical reasons.
For the next 9 years I had several jobs...mainly wallpaper hanging & painting. The jobs paid the bills, but I really wasn't happy.
As I was buying more business magazines, I noticed a beautiful necklace on a bead magazine. The patience & time it had taken to make a work of art that could be worn! I put all the magazines back on the rack, except the bead magazine. I fell in love with the tranquility of making jewelry. In the summer of 2004, I started selling jewelry at fairs & festivals. In the winter, I would sell at craft shows. I did this for several years. I started selling on eBay January 2009.
I love to travel just about as much as I love making jewelry. The pictures are me at Patriots Point, which I think is a must place to visit.

I read the following in The Loudonville Mohican Shopper under Tessie's Tidbits and wanted to pass it along to you.
A recipe of 26 ingredients for a peace-filled life.
1. Take a 15 minute walk or run every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.
2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to God about what is going on in your life.

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees & plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a college kid with a maxed-out charge card.
9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
11. Don't take yourself too seriously. No one else does.
12. You are not so important you have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
13. Make peace with your past, so it won't spoil the present.
14. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: "In five years, will this matter?"
17. Forgive everyone for everything.
18. What other people think of you is none of your business.
19. God heals everything, but you have to ask God first.
20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.
22. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for _______. I accomplished _______.
24. Remember you are too blessed to be stressed.
25. When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings. You'll be smiling before you know it.
26. Finally, a doctor was addressing a large audience in Tampa.
"The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is awful. Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining, Chinese food is loaded with MSG. High-fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. However, there is ONE thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have eaten, or will eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?"
After several seconds of quiet, a 75-year-old man in the front row raised his hand and softly said, "wedding cake."
