What can I say about me? I am not fascinating, not even mildly entertaining, really. I am a good listener, I love my friends with an intense loyalty. I like to meet new people, but am very comfortable at home. Home is my refuge, always. I have a wonderful, extremely hard-working husband, who is a dairy farmer, and works his bloomin' arse off , but loves every minute of it, and wouldn't give it up for the world. I have four great offspring. I am an animal nut. All kinds. Have had one of just about every kind of animal you can fit into a house or a barn at some point, but am down to cows (moo!) a few barn cats, our "outside" dog, and our inside dog, whom we just had to get a kitten for, cause she was lonely!
That is the story of my life, peoples.
I will now talk about my other passion........BEARS! I love bears. Stuffed animals of all types really, but especially bears. I got hooked when I was in home economics in 9th grade. We were allowed to pick one project to do that was our own choice. (NOT an apron, or a potholder!) And my choice was a stuffed bear. That was it. I have been making teddy bears for almost 35 years now, and designing my own for about 15. I make bears as specialty "Remembrance" bears for people, out of almost anything of importance to them....Grandma's old fur coat, Grandpa's flannel shirt, an old baby blanket, Mom's old chenille bathrobe or bedspread...you name it! If it is in halfway decent shape, and sewable, I have probably made a bear out of it!
I am also lately into dolls....just the 8" type, like Ginny, Ginger, Muffy, Vicki, and Pam. It all started because I wanted to get a Ginger doll for my sister, as she had had one when we were kids, and it disappeared, as things of that nature tend to do, when you move a few times. (My kids have no danger of that happening...I have been here for 23 years, with no intention of leaving, unless my hubby buys me a house on a lake!)
Anyway, I digress...I came here on to E-bay, to look for a Ginger for my sister, and BAM!! Ebay fever got me! I got carried away, and bid on five dolls, thinking I would be lucky to win one, and got FOUR! What to do with the others? I bathed them, and brushed them, and bought them clothing...(THEY WERE NAKED!) and put them back up for sale at a modest profit. BOOM! They sold. I was forever beyond hope of redemption...an ebay junkie. So, that is my sad story, and how very brave and patient of you to sit thru the whole sordid tale!
I have added a link to my modest web page, if you would care to look at some of the bears I have made...I am rather proud of them; they get to be like your children, only don't ask for money! Thanks to my dear friends, (they know who they are!) for putting this page together for me! Thanks for reading my ME page, happy bidding and have a safe and blessed Day!
