The shop deals mainly in ORIGINAL antique prints and engravings, newspapers and magazines, plus the occasional book. These items are from my own personal collections, built up by my family over several decades. GEORGIAN FASHION, including the REGENCY era, is a speciality as are plates by R.Ackermann

Fashion Plates and other collectible Prints & Books
An enchanting plate from Ackermann, 1819

I first became interested in collecting Georgian and Regency fashion plates about 10 years ago. I had been collecting old prints for many years and it suddenly dawned on me that if I knew more about how the fashions changed over the decades, I would be able to date the prints more easily. I now have a substantial collection of individual plates and antique books on fashion, mostly spanning the period 1770 to 1839. I am actually more interested in the prints and publications rather than the fashions themselves. I have representative volumes from nearly all of the great late 18th and early 19th Century publications, including a complete set of the Ackermann's Repository, which was published from 1809 to 1829. I try to list a few fashion plates, nearly all duplicates from my own collection, each week. I also have a lot of other antique prints, many from 'The Illustrated London News' which I used to collect and I list batches of these from time to time. (I had about 40 complete volumes at one time!) I also have substantial collections of hand-coloured botanical plates, World War One postcards, Liebig trade cards and cigarette cards, many of which were inherited from my father. These will all be finding their way on to Ebay in due course and at some point, I will get the spare room back! I only sell items from my own collections, many of which I have owned for many years. Like many collectors, I have too many items, quite a lot of duplicates and not enough space. I also have a job as a full time teacher, which will certainly occupy me for quite a few years yet!
