Hi and Welcome, Please feel free to browse my line of hand crafted wrought iron products, many items such as my hooks are made and ready to ship. My door hardware on the other hand is made to order due to the time, material and energy involved in crafting these items, if I had a million dollar shop with all the trimmings I could manufacture hundreds of these items in a short time, but the fact is that I alone, in my small shop craft each item one at a time to ensure the quality of my products, each piece is literally and completely hand hammered on my anvil. I take pride in my work and strive for perfection with every detail. I have been selling my products online for almost 10 years, serving hundreds of satisfied customers from Maine to California, Canada, Florida, to Washington, even New Zealand and Barbados, my products have found their way to many parts of the United States. My name is Mike, also known as Brokenanvil, some folks call me Broken or Anvil, but most everyone that knows me just calls me Mike, some have worse names for me but... lol just kidding.... maybe not :) Anyway, Fresh out of high school I got a job at a local blacksmith shop merely to clean up and organize material and work stations, after about a year of observing the blacksmith for some time and listening and tinkering around, I began to learn more about this trade. The year was 1989, over the next 10 years I had the pleasure to create works of art for folks that came to our shop looking for unusual items made of iron. In time due to circumstances, I moved on to work in the HVAC trade primarily making duct work, on occassion I was able to create ironwork for some of the local folks, as I had collected tools of the blacksmith trade for some time, though I do enjoy making ductwork my heart yearned to pursue blacksmithing full time, I was aware of the struggles of this pursuit but none the less I had to try, because this is my dream. I couldn't have been more than 5 years old when I first set my eyes on a real anvil, an old man standing by the fire waiting for the iron to get hot, in a sudden motion he whisked the bright glowing molten bar from the fire and laid it upon the anvil then quickly striking it, with a firm grip he swings his hammer over and over, sometimes tapping the anvil between blows, as sparks and bits of scale fell away, the bar began to take shape.... Today, almost 30 something years later, I have become that man with 20 years of experience at applying the trade skills of the old blacksmiths, collecting and crafting various tools that allow me to recreate the early American period style hardware that is mostly found on old barns and houses from colonial times. Over the years I have crafted a multitude of products for builders, restorers and homeowners, I have had the pleasure to serve clients from California to Maine, Washington state to Florida even Barbados, Hawaii and New Zealand. I work with many sizes and shapes of bar stock, pipe, tubing, angle iron and sheetmetal Some of the products I have made Garden Arbors, Trellises, Benches, Gates, Fireplace Tools, Screens, Kitchen Pot Racks, Hooks and Hangers, Strap Hinges, Thumb Latches, Door Pulls, Shutter Dogs, Awnings, Patio Furniture, and more. In the mid 90's I dabbled in the art of forge welding Damascus Steel, also called pattern welding, and shaping billets for knife blades and Swords, unfortunately I'm unable to provide these for now, at some point in the near future I will be able to pursue it again. Shipping Policy All Hardware is generally shipped within 3 working days unless otherwise stated in the listing as I do try to keep all items in stock there will be times when some hardware will need to be made to fulfill your order resulting in extended handling time, please contact me about your specific hardware needs, my lead time, and a quote on large orders.
