We are a family owned company that started back in 2001. Our company was started so that I could stay at home with my children and still make an income. What started out as a very small business has grown with leaps & bounds. We are now shipping from the East to the West Coast. Also, Canada on occasion. My father & I started together working on wooden crafts back in 1998. He after having back surgery, could no longer go back to his original job as a mechanic, decided to try his hand at making wooden items. I had taken some painting classes, so he cut out the wooden items and I painted them. We took them to many craft shows, which were very tiring but it gave us some very great quality time together. In November 2001, we lost my dad to colon cancer. I no longer had the desire to paint but started doing some research in making candles. After much thought and trial & error, I started selling candles to friends & family. About 1 year later, Backroad Hobbies was born and we started our online business. Our business has grown from a small 1 person operated business to hiring on 3 more people and over the Fall/Holiday rush up to 4 or more.
We always try to get your orders out in a timely manner. We do make mistakes and ask that you allow us to fix them. When my father had his mechanic/garage business his logo was "We fix everything but broken hearts." I know from talking with some of you through email/phone. We hope that sometimes we can fix those too.:)
Lastly, we hope you keep coming back and let us know if there are any items or options you would like to see on here.
